Hit the north rocks in KS at 2. High tide was around 3 and I wanted to hit it for an hour before and an hour after. I had my son was with me so I wanted to keep it short.  There were birds diving all around, sea lions and harbor seals and a ton of baitfish in the water. We ended up staying out for 4 hours. It was just too beautiful of a day and there was a lot of hope in the air (in the form of diving birds). I got pretty skunked except for a monster male Rock Greenling that hit after about 2 hours. Actually it was the biggest Greenling I have ever caught. It had to be around 16" and well over 2lbs. It hit a 5" Strike King Zero (senko like worm) with a 3/8 oz mojo slider sinker and red glass bead. I didn't snap a pic (cause I forgot my camera again) and quickly released him. My son just wanted to hang out on the beach so that was it, we headed in at 6 in time for dinner.

Nice, my biggest greenling was 12".

A couple years ago I caught a monster 18 inch kelp greenling from the dolos on the north jetty. It inhaled my 5 inch Senko, and fought hard enough to convince me I was hooked into a nice cab. I ended up keeping that fish, but if I caught one that size now I'd probably let it go since I've decided I don't like eating greenling very much.

Never heard of such a huge rock greenling though. Don't seem to see too many of those out here.
