Arrived at the South right at 10:30 with plans to stay till 1:30. That gives me enough time to get home, clean the fish I have hopefully caught and be at my kids school on time to pick him up. It was calm, but the water was a little swelly. Started around marker 32 with a changin tide coming in. No bites for quite a while, actually I only had two bites all day. One bite that I should've had, but missed and the second was a Lingcod that I landed. At 11:20 I got a good bite a little past marker 28. It came up pretty easy and I saw that it was a Ling, it saw me and I thought 'here we go'. It made a couple of half hearted runs that stayed clear of the rocks. My line didn't have a nick on it when I checked it after. The hardest part about landin a decent to big fish on the rocks is the landing. The swelly water made it impossible for me to get close enough to grab, so I lip gaffed it. I brought it on the rocks and it measured at 24" so I took it off the rocks for a better measure. It said a little over 24" so I cut it and kept poundin the rocks. When I catch a little Ling like that I throw my lure in the same place hoping it was a male and that there is a big female close by, but there wasn't. Around 12 the wind started to pick up and made the water a little choppy. The wind was enough to make accurately workin my lure impossible and it was gettin pretty cold. After a while with no more bites, 1 started to feel as good as 1:30 so I split.
