North Wall, 10-3-07 and 10-4-07

Fished the wall with plastics in the evenings yesterday and today, during the high tides.  Lots of small fish are out here right now, especially from marker 8 and below.  I used the ol' standby both times: 5" YUM Dinger in green pumpkin/chartreuse, 1/4 oz. bullet weight, 5/0 worm hook.  Due to the hook size I had a difficult time hooking the small fish, but I was able to stick a few of them.

10-3 resulted in three blacks from 8"-11" and a little cabby, while 10-4 gave up one 12" black and a 12" cabezon.  Most of the bites were coming from in close, not much happening in the deeper water.  Guys fishing with me caught a couple small blacks and a bonus 13" grassie, all on dark-colored plastics.  The bite's pretty dead until the sun starts to set, but as soon as the light gets off the water it's GAME ON and you get bites on nearly every cast.

Also, the higher tides (over 6 foot) will flood the sandy area behind the wall with about knee-deep water, so you must be prepared for a little wading if you want to fish this area on the incoming tides.  And believe me, that water is COLD!
