Got to the South at 10:30 on an incomin tide. Parked at marker 32 and started poundin the rocks from there. I started gettin a lot of good hits on a Yum Dinger, right away. I couldn't get any to stick so I switched to my back up rod with a Strike King Redfish Magic spinner bait. I picked up a little Black right in a spot that I had a ton of missed hits. He obviously liked that spinner bait a lot more than the worm. I brought it up and thought I had it whooped, but one last head shake and it released itself. I kept missin really good hits and started to get a little down about it until marker 30... whamo! I stuck somethin good and heavy. It started fightin pretty hard and I saw it was a nice Ling when I brought it up once. It looked BIG and took a hard run after I saw it that ended with a broken line. Man I was bummed! Kept workin down and I stuck a nice little 12" Black Rockfish that I kept for the plate. I stuck a little 13" Cabezon after that, released. It was a real fatty with a huge head on it and I thought it was goin to be a keeper, but no. Somewhere around marker 28 I got another good hit. Fought a lot like the first Ling that broke me off, looked like it too, I don't think it was as big though. Kept A 25" Ling that was caught on the Yum Dinger. It was the last fish of the day, although I kept tryin. I left at 1:50 with enough time to get home, clean the 2 fish, load up the dogs and be on time to pick up my kid from school.
