Finally got to hit the rocks again after a long December. I made it out there by 12 noon and had to leave by 3:30. It was a real low tide and pretty nice weather. I started shallow as usual, down at marker 29. My rods were my 7'9" heavy act w/ a 1/2oz slider sinker, red glass bead and I started off w/ a 6" Senko. I lost a couple 6" Senkos without a bite and switchted to a 5" Strike King Zero. No love on that I switched to a 5" soft jerk. My other rod was my 5'6" dippin stick w/ a 3/4oz slider sinker, red glass bead and an Offshore Angler Cajun Crab. It was really dead for a while. I got my first 'hello's' about 1:20, but the hits were sloppy and I wasn't able to hook anything.
1:30 I took a break and ate lunch before headin out a little deeper. I started again off the parking right before you hit the walkway to the jetti. I saw three vehicles, 2 trucks and a geo metro type car way out on the beach. I was quickly informed by a young kid that somebody in the geo lookin thing tried to bonzai the beach and...got stuck. The trucks were his brother and friend trying to help the guy out.
A couple bites here and there as I kept workin out deeper. Finally I got a solid hook up on the dippin stick as I was workin a hole to my left. It was a decent 14" Black Rockfish that I was stoked to keep. I was workin another spot a little further up with my 7'9" when I hooked up on another Black just a little bigger than the first, kept it too. It was gettin pretty close to quittin time so I decided to end it by the truck with no more hook ups.

Happy New Year!smile

Props on gettin' out there before all this nasty weather blew in.  Looks like the jetties will be out of commission for a while.

It's so chocolatey I'm tempted to collect some in a thermos and add a few marshmallows biggrin.  They're calling for a dry spell this week, hopefully it'll be enough time for the bay to flush out some of the mud.
